I appreciate Daria for its enduring relevance. I tend to gravitate towards media that resonates with my own experiences, and when I first came across Daria during my freshman year of high school, I found it to be a humorous and insightful portrayal of many aspects of my teenage life. Daria's character and her interactions with her family and peers at school mirrored some of my own experiences, and it felt relatable.
While the show did employ exaggeration for comedic purposes, it still managed to capture the essence of what it's like to be a somewhat unconventional teenager, just like I was at the time. It made me feel understood and less alone in my quirks and idiosyncrasies.
